The word rodent comes from the Latin word "rodere" to gnaw. Rodents continually gnaw due to their continuously growing incisors, thus causing damage where ever they choose to live. Very often sharing our homes and places of work, and eating our food and waste. It is this close proximity to man that enables them to spread diseases to us.
Rats can carry a wide range of disease that can be spread to man: Tapeworm, Listeriosis, Toxoplasmosis, Tetanus, Ringworm, Salmonella, and of course the life threatening Weils Disease.
Diseases can be spread via their fleas, mites, and ticks, via their urine, and their faeces, and also from their bites
Rats and mice basically need 3 things in order to survive;
Food, Shelter, and Water
Unfortunately man tends to provide all 3
